QuitWorks: a solution for providers to help patients quit smoking.

QuitWorks Recognition Program

More than 30,000 patients from across Massachusetts have been referred to the QuitWorks program since its inception in 2002.  Since then, individual providers, health care systems, and hospitals have joined QuitWorks to give their patients access to the help necessary to quit smoking for good. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Program have developed a program to recognize individuals and organizations for their participation in QuitWorks.

 QuitWorks 2011 Recognition Levels

The QuitWorks recognition program honors providers that regularly make patient referrals to the QuitWorks program. Individual providers and organizations will be recognized in two ways:

  1. Year-by-Year recognitions based on total referrals from January 1st through December 31st of each year
  2. Historical recognitions which count referrals from the earliest date you or your institution made referrals to QuitWorks

Based on the benchmarks your organization surpasses, recognitions could include:

  1. Recognition on the QuitWorks website and newsletters
  1. Onsite social event at your location
  1. Presentation of certificate or plaque issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health
  1. Announcement of achievement at the Great American Smoke Out (GASO) event held each November at the Massachusetts State House.
